Millennium House is pictured on this site and, yes, there are hummingbirds, as represented. MH was conceived and built around the turn to the Third Millennium; the walls were erected in the Year 2000. To the extent then practicable, MH was built with respect for the environment. Materials from the previous structure on this location, including all the glass and window hardware, bricks and concrete blocks, and wooden beams were recycled. MH itself is constructed largely with recycled materials and was planned for maximum energy-efficiency and durability.

Millennium House was designed without a specific architectural style; it was designed to function as a practical structure for the Sonoran Desert. Thus, it did ultimately come to resemble traditional structures of North Africa and the pueblos of the North American southwest.

The original design was created by Tom, a talented architect with environmental interests, working in collaboration with Robbin and your author, Millennium Man, a Medical Doctor. Subsequent structures were created on the site as appropriate, requiring six building permits, so far.

As the owner of the real estate, I've wanted to formulate a purpose for the structure and the site, having created MH as more than a simple residence; it was built to endure more than a thirty-year mortgage depreciation. It was built for the centuries. So, a dedication seems appropriate. The initial thought was to dedicate MH to the promulgation of the Arts and Sciences, both means of seeking truths, emotional and practical. That seems lofty. But there are worthy human pursuits outside those media and disciplines, such as spiritual and humanitarian goals, which indeed are the stated purposes of many institutions (though, it seems, often misguided).

Thus, the Mission Statement for Millennium House will be to seek Truth in all it's forms for the growth of the Human Spirit in all its forms.
